Darline & Norman Article featured in Strictly Weddings wedding
High Glamour Wedding Day in San Diego

You’ve heard the saying, “always the bridesmaid, never the bride.” Well, Darline and Norman’s love story has a little bit different spin to it before they exchanged their own “I Do’s.” Darline and Norman first met at a wedding where they both were members of the bridal party. Funny thing – they did not get along. Nearly six years later, they once again found themselves in another wedding party together were Darline was the Maid of Honor and Norman was the Best Man. This time down the aisle went a bit differently for them. Cue the flirtation. Darline and Norman found themselves reminiscing and sharing in their own amazing memories about their closest friends. A friendship was founded and from there their relationship evolved into much more. Fast forward to Darline’s birthday in 2016 where Norman surprised her with a trip to San Francisco culminating in a rooftop proposal at the Fairmont Hotel. Every aspect of their wedding to be unique and high glamour. Let’s begin with Darline’s couture Berta gown from Lovella Bridal! She paired this masterpiece with a gorgeous pair of Valentino for her walk down the aisle. Her bridesmaids a.ka. glam squad wore sleek silhouette dresses in soft lavender. From the ceremony with only the closest family members to the 500-guest wedding reception, they honored their culture and included each Chaldean tradition. The ceremonial crowns that represented Christ & the Church or equality in their relationship symbolized the thought that you need one to preserve the other. The Kalila (white bow) which means “crown,” was also tied to Norman’s arm at the reception. This bow signifies that the groom is taking leadership as the head of his family. If the perfect combination of modern glamour and valued traditions wasn’t enough, a 7-foot robot made an appearance on the dance floor at the end of the night as a fun factor detail.
