Kelsey and Marlon and Wedding – Coasterra

Kelsey & Marlon’s relationship started as a beautiful friendship which quickly grew romantic after a few months. Both Kelsey & Marlon are very into sports, and lead healthy and active life styles, together and separately. One of their favorite games to play together is a basketball game called “Knock Out”, a game Kelsey & her father came up with and used to play throughout her life. He passed away in 2011 and this special activity lives on through Kelsey & Marlon. While in Las Vegas for a volleyball tournament, Marlon decided to bring Kelsey’s father’s basketballs for a destination game of knock out where he proposed in the middle of the court! Fast forward to their Summer wedding in San Diego…

Kelsey & Marlon live in Northern California but have many roots in San Diego so decided to plan their destination wedding on the harbor. The day started with an early morning wedding workout at their La Jolla AirBNB where they also had their first look! Their wedding was held at Coasterra Mexican restaurant overlooking the San Diego skyline (one of the best views of the city, in my opinion). It was important to celebrate their families so Kelsey & Marlon kept their wedding party very simple and had their mothers (and Marlon’s grandmother) walk them down the aisle and their sisters as bridesmaids. Not to mention their adorable nieces and nephews as the ring bearer and flower girls! A table was also set up for Kelsey’s deceased father to attend in spirit. Their wedding was full of lots of personal details and DIY projects, including the seating chart done by the bride, the cake was designed and made by the brides sister, Karen Stiles and their guest book was a Wilson basketball.

It was such an honor to capture this gorgeous couples’ perfect day. Congratulations to the Wilson’s!!
